The Trucker Hat is a True Comeback Kid

June 8, 2024October 13, 2024

If there’s one thing most shoppers and style pundits can agree on, it’s the fact that fashion is certainly
cyclical. Sooner or later, a trend is bound to find its way back into our cultural consciousness, our favorite
stores, and our closets. Yes, even the trucker hat.

Quite possibly one of the most notable and memorable fashion trends of the early 2000s with ’70s roots, the trucker hat had quite the fashion moment. Celebrities like Ashton Kutcher, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and Pharrell Williams donned the retro-influenced cap on red carpets and in music videos with brands like Teenage Millionaire and Von Dutch quickly becoming the most visible and most popular.

By the middle of the decade, the trend had reached its lowest point with bastardized versions appearing in discount stores and flea markets, ultimately putting a lid on the trend on a larger scale…or so we thought.

Two decades later, thanks in part to brands like Goorin Bros. (and retailers like Urban Outfitters and Bass Pro Shops), the easy breezy cap is back in full force. While the new versions feature improved materials and better quality construction, truly vintage iterations – either thrifted or borrowed from Grandpop – featuring the mesh back, a somewhat worn bill, and slogans and logos of yesteryear can serve as the perfect hat option to keep cool and stylish this summer.

Will we still be wearing truckers next year? Who’s to say? But, for now, let’s leave the vulgar phrased, bedazzled, and airbrushed variety back in 2003 with Honey, low-rise jeans, oversized jerseys, and shirts that have laces.

And, please, don’t wear it to the side.

Birkenstock Boston: The Shoe of the Post-Pandemic Era

January 19, 2024October 13, 2024

Post-pandemic fashion has brought us to a place that most of us never expected (and so many of us were secretly hoping to land): A space where casual is more casual than ever, and casual and cozy elements happily coexist — especially when it comes to the day’s footwear options. That said, it’s practically kismet that the Birkenstock Boston clog has become one of the most coveted shoes as of late.
